Searching OpenClaw Docs from the Terminal

I often find myself lost in a sea of browser tabs when I just need to check one specific flag. It is frustrating to break my concentration and stop writing code just to search for documentation online.

I prefer staying in my terminal. It keeps me focused and makes the development process feel much faster.

  • The openclaw CLI installed on your system.
  • An active internet connection to access the live index.

You can search the live documentation index directly from your command line. This is the fastest way to find what you need.

Step 1: Search for general topics If you need to find information about a specific feature, run the command with your keywords:

Terminal window
openclaw docs browser extension

Step 2: Search for specific configuration flags You can also look up specific parameters or settings to see how they work:

Terminal window
openclaw docs sandbox allowHostControl

The source documentation does not currently list specific error codes for this command. Because this tool searches a live docs index, you should verify that your terminal can reach the network if a search fails to return results.
