exe.dev에서 OpenClaw Gateway 설정하기

새로운 개발 환경을 구축할 때마다 반복되는 서버 설정과 네트워크 구성은 꽤나 번거로운 일이에요. 특히 원격 접속을 위해 포트를 열고, SSL 인증서를 관리하고, 프록시를 설정하는 과정에서 많은 시간을 허비하게 되죠. 복잡한 과정 없이 바로 개발에 집중하고 싶은 마음은 모든 개발자가 비슷할 거예요.

이 가이드에서는 exe.dev VM에서 OpenClaw Gateway를 실행하고, https://<vm-name>.exe.xyz 주소로 노트북에서 바로 접속하는 방법을 설명할게요.

What You Need

• exe.dev 계정
• exe.dev 가상 머신에 대한 ssh exe.dev 접속 권한 (선택 사항)

빠른 시작

가장 빠르게 시작하고 싶다면 exe.dev의 에이전트인 Shelley를 이용해 보세요. 5분 안에 모든 설정을 마칠 수 있어요.

1. https://exe.new/openclaw에 접속하세요.
2. 필요한 경우 auth key나 token을 입력하세요.
3. VM 옆에 있는 Agent 버튼을 클릭하고 잠시 기다려 주세요.
4. 설정이 완료되면 바로 사용 가능합니다.

Shelley는 내부적으로 아래와 같은 prompt를 사용하여 OpenClaw를 자동으로 설치하고 Nginx를 구성해요.

Set up OpenClaw (https://docs.openclaw.ai/install) on this VM. Use the non-interactive and accept-risk flags for openclaw onboarding. Add the supplied auth or token as needed. Configure nginx to forward from the default port 18789 to the root location on the default enabled site config, making sure to enable Websocket support. Pairing is done by "openclaw devices list" and "openclaw device approve \<request id\>". Make sure the dashboard shows that OpenClaw's health is OK. exe.dev handles forwarding from port 8000 to port 80/443 and HTTPS for us, so the final "reachable" should be \<vm-name\>.exe.xyz, without port specification.

Manual Installation

직접 하나씩 설정하고 싶다면 아래 단계를 따라와 주세요. 기본 이미지인 exeuntu를 기준으로 설명할게요.

1. VM 생성 및 접속

로컬 기기에서 아래 명령어를 실행하여 새 VM을 만드세요.

ssh exe.dev new

생성된 VM에 접속합니다. OpenClaw는 ~/.openclaw/와 ~/.openclaw/workspace/에 상태를 저장하므로, 이 VM을 stateful하게 유지하는 것이 좋아요.

ssh \<vm-name\>.exe.xyz

2. 필수 패키지 설치

VM에 접속한 후 필요한 도구들을 먼저 설치해 주세요.

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install -y git curl jq ca-certificates openssl

3. OpenClaw 설치

설치 스크립트를 실행합니다.

4. Nginx를 이용한 프록시 설정

OpenClaw를 8000번 포트로 프록시하도록 /etc/nginx/sites-enabled/default 파일을 수정해야 해요. 아래 설정을 파일에 붙여넣으세요.

5. 접속 및 권한 승인

이제 https://<vm-name>.exe.xyz/로 접속하세요. 만약 인증을 요구한다면 VM에서 아래 명령어로 토큰을 확인하거나 생성할 수 있어요.

• 토큰 확인: openclaw config get gateway.auth.token
• 토큰 생성: openclaw doctor --generate-gateway-token

기기 승인이 필요하다면 아래 명령어를 사용하세요.

openclaw devices approve \<requestId\>

문제 해결

문제가 발생했을 때 시도해 볼 수 있는 방법들이에요.

• 인증 문제: 접속 시 인증 토큰이 필요하다면 VM에서 gateway.auth.token을 확인해 보세요.
• 설정 확인: openclaw doctor 명령어를 실행하여 현재 상태를 점검할 수 있어요.
• 도움이 필요할 때: 설정이 잘 안 된다면 브라우저에서 Shelley를 실행해 보세요.
