Setting up DNS for Wide-Area Discovery
I often struggle with getting different machines to recognize each other by name. It is a repetitive task that usually leads to configuration errors and connectivity issues across networks.
I want a simple way to manage wide-area discovery without manual edits. The openclaw dns helper handles the connection between Tailscale and CoreDNS for me.
What You’ll Need

Quick Start
Section titled “Quick Start”I use these two steps to get my DNS environment ready. This process focuses on macOS systems using Homebrew.

Run the setup check to see your current status:
Terminal window openclaw dns setup -
Apply the configuration to your system:
Terminal window openclaw dns setup --apply
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”The openclaw dns setup command identifies issues in your local environment. Use it to verify your macOS and Homebrew CoreDNS configuration if discovery is not working.
