Automate Zalo Personal Accounts with OpenClaw

Ever tried to automate a personal account only to find the official API is locked behind business requirements? It is a common headache when you just want to build something quick for your own use. If you are looking to bring Zalo into your OpenClaw setup without the corporate red tape, this plugin is what you need.

Zalo Personal support for OpenClaw uses native zca-js to automate a normal Zalo user account.

Warning: Unofficial automation may lead to account suspension/ban. Use at your own risk.

The channel ID is zalouser. This makes it clear you are automating a personal Zalo user account. We are keeping the zalo name reserved just in case an official Zalo API integration happens later.

This plugin lives inside the Gateway process.

If you use a remote Gateway, you need to install and configure it on the machine running the Gateway, then restart the Gateway. You do not need any external zca or openzca CLI binary.

Terminal window
openclaw plugins install @openclaw/zalouser

Restart the Gateway afterwards.

Option B: install from a local folder (dev)

Section titled “Option B: install from a local folder (dev)”
Terminal window
PLUGIN_SRC=./path/to/local/zalouser-plugin
openclaw plugins install "$PLUGIN_SRC"
cd "$PLUGIN_SRC" && pnpm install

Restart the Gateway afterwards.

Your channel configuration lives under channels.zalouser instead of the usual plugin entry path:

{
channels: {
zalouser: {
enabled: true,
dmPolicy: "pairing",
},
},
}

You can manage your account and test messages directly from the command line:

Terminal window
openclaw channels login --channel zalouser
openclaw channels logout --channel zalouser
openclaw channels status --probe
openclaw message send --channel zalouser --target <threadId> --message "Hello from OpenClaw"
openclaw directory peers list --channel zalouser --query "name"

Tool name: zalouser

Actions: send, image, link, friends, groups, me, status

Channel message actions also support react for message reactions.
