Get Started with ClawHub: Install OpenClaw Skills Fast

Ever felt like you’re building the same agent features over and over? It’s frustrating when you know someone else has probably solved the problem already, but there’s no easy way to grab their work and plug it into your own setup. That’s where ClawHub comes in.

If you are already using OpenClaw, you can manage skills and plugins directly through the native CLI.

Skills:

Terminal window
openclaw skills search "calendar"
openclaw skills install <skill-slug>
openclaw skills update --all

Plugins:

Terminal window
openclaw plugins install clawhub:<package>
openclaw plugins update --all

Bare npm-safe plugin specs are also tried against ClawHub before npm:

Terminal window
openclaw plugins install openclaw-codex-app-server

Native openclaw commands install into your active workspace and keep track of where they came from. This means later update calls know to check ClawHub for new versions.

ClawHub is the public registry for OpenClaw skills and plugins. It acts as the central spot to find everything you need to make your agent smarter.

  • It is a public registry for OpenClaw skills and plugins.
  • It provides a versioned store of skill bundles and metadata.
  • It offers a discovery surface for search, tags, and usage signals.
  • It tracks usage signals to help you find the best tools.
  1. You publish a skill bundle containing your files and metadata.
  2. ClawHub stores the bundle, reads the metadata, and assigns a version.
  3. The registry indexes the skill so others can find it via search.
  4. Users browse, download, and install skills directly into OpenClaw.
  • Publish new skills or update existing ones with new versions.
  • Find skills by name, tags, or plain language search.
  • Download skill bundles to see exactly how they work.
  • Report skills that seem unsafe or abusive.
  • If you are a moderator, you can manage content visibility or ban bad actors.

If you want to give your OpenClaw agent new powers, ClawHub is the easiest way to do it. You don’t need to be a backend expert to get started. You can:

  • Search for skills using normal language.
  • Install a skill into your workspace.
  • Keep your skills updated with a single command.
  • Publish your own skills to keep a backup of your work.
  1. Search for a capability you need:
    • openclaw skills search "calendar"
  2. Install the skill:
    • openclaw skills install <skill-slug>
  3. Start a new OpenClaw session to load the new skill.
  4. If you want to publish your own work, install the separate clawhub CLI too.

You only need this if you plan to publish skills or sync
