Managing your OpenClaw sessions

I often find it hard to keep track of my work when I’m jumping between different tasks. It is easy to forget which session contains the specific context or data you need. Managing that history should be simple so you can get back to your code.

I use the sessions command to stay organized and find exactly where I left off.

  • OpenClaw installed on your system.
  • Stored conversation sessions.

You can view your history quickly with a few variations of the command.

To see all your stored conversation sessions, run:

Terminal window
openclaw sessions

If you only want to see sessions that were active recently, use the active flag. For example, to see sessions from the last 120 minutes:

Terminal window
openclaw sessions --active 120

If you need the data in a format for other tools, you can output everything as JSON:

Terminal window
openclaw sessions --json

The source documentation does not list specific error codes or common failures for this command. If your list is empty, verify that you have successfully saved previous conversations.

If you have questions about specific flags, you can ask the AI Setup Assistant.
